White Sox Add Two Pitchers
The Chicago White Sox added two right-handed pitchers to their rosters, announcing on Thursday that the team recalled Jhonny Nunez and bought Daniel Hudson's contract.
Both Nunez and Hudson had been with the team's triple-A affiliate in Charlotte, N.C.
Hudson, 22, who does not have major league experience, went 14-5 with a 2.32 ERA. He will wear a No. 54 uniform. Nunez, 23, went 5-0 with a 2.55 ERA. He came from the New York Yankees in November 2008.
The White Sox now have an active roster of 30 players with the additions of Nunez and Hudson.
The Chicago team is now third place, four games behind the first-place Detroit Tigers and two games behind the second-place Minnesota Twins.
The team looked as if it was headed for its sixth straight loss Wednesday while playing the Twins. But two homeruns in the ninth inning led way to the team winning a 4-2 victory shortly afterward.
The White Sox play the other Chicago team, the Cubs, Thursday at Wrigley Field.
