White Stripes Tour Hoax

Anyone who got excited after seeing the extensive list of tour dates for the White Stripes' new album can forget it. It was just a hoax. The rumors that began swirling around the web on Monday have been summarily dismissed by representatives for the band. The duo's management released a statement reading that they have not set their North America route in stone as of yet. All details from the report have been labeled as complete fabrication, yet it seems that some promotional traveling is in the works. The statement went on to say that all 10 provinces that comprise Canada, as well as 3 Canadian territories, and the 16 remaining U.S. states that the White Stripes have not yet toured, will be on the list. Add to that a few of the major venues that have been played.

The band's newest album, Icky Thump, is set for release in June.
