Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown are Through
On April 24th, Whitney Houston will officially gain single status. The singer's marriage to Bobby Brown will be officially dissolved this month, a judge ruled on Wednesday. Houston also received custody of the couple's daughter, Bobbi Christina. Houston testified in court that she did not require Brown to provide child, or spousal, support. She also had a few things to say about her soon-to-be ex: "He's unreliable. If he says he's going to come, sometimes he does. Usually he doesn't." Brown did not attend the hearing on Wednesday.
The singer filed for divorce from Mr. Brown last October. The two were married in 1992, a marriage which lasted 14 years and had its share of ups and downs. When they wed, both singers were successful recording artists.
Over the past 14 years, the marriage has witnessed Brown's arrest for drugs and Whitney's rehab stints.
Being relieved of child support responsibilities is lucky for Brown, as he's already been in trouble for failing to cough up the cash numerous times for his previous ex-flame, Kim Ward, with whom Brown has two children.
