Whitney Houston is back on top

Whitney's new album tops the charts

'The Greatest Love of All' Singer Whitney Houston has topped the Billboard charts. Her first album in seven years 'I look To You' debuted at number 1.

Last week might have been a step back for the singer, due to a well publicized mishap in which she gave a less then stellar performance on ABC's 'Good Morning America'. Even though the reviews for the album were mixed, the public got behind Ms. Houston.

This also comes in handy due to the fact; the album was released on the last day of Grammy eligibility. So fans that helped Whitney get to the number 1 spot, can keep that in mind when it comes to voting this upcoming October.

According to LATimes.com, Houston has won six Grammys, two being for best record for 'I Will Always Love You', and in 1993 for Album of the Year for 'The Bodyguard'. "Houston first came to fame with a self-titled debut disc in 1985 that went to No. 1 and won her a Grammy for best pop vocal performance and contended for the top prize of album of the year (Phil Collins won for "No Jacket Required"). And she earned an Emmy for her performance of "Saving All My Love For You" on that Grammy cast. Her single "The Greatest Love of All" lost record of the year the following year to "Higher Love" by Steve Winwood."
