Whitney Houston Begin Her Comeback
Whitney Houston is planning a comeback and today she announced a Sept. 1 release date for her next album, the Star-Ledger reports.
According to E! Online, an announcement on the six-time Grammy winner's official website counts down the days, hours, minutes and seconds until fans can get the seventh studio album of Houston's career.
The first single from the album, "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" by Diane Warren, is expected to hit radio stations by the summer.
No track listing has been released, but, according to The Daily Voice, Houston reportedly collaborated with Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am, songwriter Sean Garret and R&B singer Akon for the album.
Entertainment Tonight reports that this album, the first of her original material since 2002, will feature classic Houston.
"We're not going to compromise who she is to fit into today's hip-hop radio market," producer Clive Davis said. "The public wants Whitney material."
