Whitney Houston announced this week that she's planning on releasing a new album in September. After putting her musical talents on hold for nearly seven years, the star has been working on this long-awaited comeback album since 2007.
According to Reuters, Arista Records is releasing the album. Several stints at rehab for drug addiction have made the singer a popular topic for the tabloids. Houston also divorced her ex-husband Bobby Brown in 2007 soon after opening their life up as a reality TV show, "Being Bobby Brown."
Although the new album is not yet titled, Entertainment Weekly reported that it will feature collaborations with other popular R&B stars, such as R. Kelly, Swiss Beatz, Akon, David Foster and Diane Warren.
The album is set to be released Sept. 1.
