Who was Billy Mays?

Bill Mays has been appearing on your screen for many years and many people do not know his name. His face was very popular on the infomercials. Mays was a prevalent TV pitchman who died suddenly over the weekend.

According to People in March, they talked about Mays' upbringing in Pittsburg who used to play semi-pro football and then tried his luck as a pitchman at the New Jersey seaside resort.

Mays is best known for his stain remover OxiClean which he worked with friend Anthony Sullivan. Sullivan and Mays produced the TV commercial for OxiClean and made success.

Sullivan quoted that "Mays was a pitchman and he was proud of it. He was the hardest working man in television. He stood behind every product he sold." Beside the OxiClean, Mays is known for other fix-it home products such as the Kaboom cleaner and the Mighty Putty.

The death was a shocker, however Sullivan says that Mays will be greatly missed, onscreen and off.
