Who Will be the Entertainer of the Year?

Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood are up against quite a few male competitors all vying for the coveted title of Entertainer of the Year at next month’s Academy of Country Music Awards. The two women will take on Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, and George Strait, all of whom have won the award before. Also nominated for Entertainer of the Year are Brad Paisley and Keith Urban, both of whom are former Top Male Vocalist of the Year recipients. Finally, the women will compete against newcomers the Zac Brown Band.

Swift has four other ACM nominations including Top Female Vocalist of the Year, Video of the Year, Song of the Year, and Song of the Year co-writer. Underwood is up for five additional nominations including Top Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, Vocal Event of the Year, Song of the Year, and Song of the Year writer.

It looks like this year might go to the ladies!

The 45th annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be held in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 18, 2010. Make sure to watch the event as it airs live on CBS at 8 p.m. (EST).
