Who Will Receive Custody of Jackson's Three Children?
The greatest tragedy coming from Michael Jackson's untimely death is his three children being left fatherless. It is unclear who will serve as primary guardian to these orphaned kids. Jackson's will asked for the three to remain in custody of his mother, Katherine Jackson, in the family home in Encino, Calif., but the children's permanent care will be determined in a custody hearing.
Jackson's three children, referred to as Prince, Paris, and Blanket, will most likely remain in custody of Jackson's mother, or be taken care of by one of his sisters, Janet or Rebbie, CBS News reports. All three women have played a large role in the three children's lives.
Janet Jackson's role as guardian seems to be interesting to the public because she is a celebrity, but it does not seem like she is most suited or willing to take care of the children. When questioned, Inside Edition has reported that she would be willing to accept the responsibility if granted custody of them and will do whatever is best for the children. As a woman with no experience with children, Janet is ill-equipped in raising three. Janet is also recuperating from a recent split from long-time boyfriend, Jermaine Dupri.
Jackson's older sister, Rebbie seems most eligible. Her and her husband have raised children of their own and have managed to remain out of the spotlight. She also seems to be the most eager to take on the role as guardian of Prince, Paris, and Blanket.
