Will and Jada Pinkett Smith Will Host the Nobel Peace Prize Concert

Will and Jada Pinkett Smith will co-host the Nobel Peace Prize concert, which will include performances by Toby Keith and Wyclef Jean.

Will and Jada Pinkett Smith were chosen as hosts of the Nobel Peace Prize concert which will take place Dec. 11 in Oslo, Norway. The concert will feature performances by Toby Keith, Wyclef Jean, Donna Summer, Luis Fonsi and Amadou & Miriam, a duo from Mali.

Secretary of the Norwegian Nobel Committee Geir Lundestad expressed excitement at having the celebrity couple as hosts. "Together they've had a global impact on the arts and philanthropy and will be excellent ambassadors for peace," he said.

The concert will celebrate the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize, the winner of which will be announced on Oct. 6. There were a record number of nominations for the 2009 prize, 205 in total. Among the nominees are President Barack Obama and French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
