Prince William and Duchess Kate took the time to visit families in Birmingham who were affected by the riots.
“Looking at all the young people out and about on the streets, we couldn’t believe it was happening in Britain,” Kate said in regards to the riots.
The couple visited a family who lost three men in England’s recent riot, and spoke with them for approximately 20 minutes.
A law enforcement official who was present during the visit said, “They were very concerned about what the families had gone through and how they were coping with such a tragedy.”
In addition, William and Kate met with over 70 residents at the Summerfield Community Centre, thanking them for the work that they have done during the riots.
