Wilson Phillips has been announced to replace Cheap Trick at Vancouver’s Pacific National Exhibition on September 1.

According to the Montreal Gazette, Cheap Trick decided to cancel their show in Vancouver. The manufacturers who would make the stage for them were the same manufacturers who made their stage on July 17 when the stage suddenly collapsed.

“All potential alternatives have been explored by the band and promoter and were exhausted, leaving Cheap Trick with no other option than to cancel their September 1st engagement at the PNE (Pacific National Exhibition),” Cheap Trick’s website mentions.

However, the Wilson Phillips will replace Cheap Trick, the Vancouver Sun reports. The group consists of three girls: Carnie and Wendy Wilson, who are the daughters of Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson, as well as Chynna Phillips, whose parents are John and Michelle Phillips of the Mamas and the Papas.

“We’re very excited to have these talented performers as part of our 2011 concert mix,” PNE creative director Patrick Roberge said. “We think the band will appeal to a wide number of our guests and is a great addition to our lineup.”
