Winehouse Out of Jail

MTV news is reporting that Amy Winehouse is being released from jail.

The singer was arrested on Friday for assault. It was believe that she hit a 38-year-old male patron at a bar when he got in the way of her pool game. She went into the police station voluntarily to be interrogated about the incident. However, when she got to the station, a police doctor found her unfit to be interviewed and she was forced to spend the evening in jail.

On Saturday, Winehouse admitted to the police that she did in fact slap the man at the bar. Chris Goodman, the singer's spokesperson, told the Associated Press that Winehouse, "admitted to a common assault, by slapping a man with an open hand, and accepted a caution."

She was also believed to have head-butted another patron at the bar that night, but no charges were brought up. The charge of assault will stay on the singer's permanent record.
