Winehouse Pulls Out of Coachella

Amy Winehouse won't be performing at Coachella due to "legal issues."

According to BBC News, pop singer Amy Winehouse will not perform at the Coachella Music Festival in California.

Winehouse will not appear due to what her spokesperson calls, "legal issues." Winehouse is due in a London court next week to address charges she attacked a fan at a party in September.

Winehouse, 27, is a Grammy-winning artist best known for her hits, "Rehab" and "Back to Black." The legal troubles befalling Winehouse could make it difficult to get a U.S. visa. Last year, she was denied a visa for the Grammy Awards. The decision was ultimately reversed. However, it was not in time for Winehouse to attend the festivities.

Being charged with any type of crime can make it difficult for people to acquire U.S. visas.

Currently, Winehouse is scheduled to perform in May at a celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Island Records.

Other artists scheduled to perform include Toots and the Maytals, Keane, the Fratellis and Yusuf Islam, formerly known as Cat Stevens.

The celebration will include a week of concerts taking place at the Shepherds Bush Empire in London.

The wider celebration includes the concerts, a photo exposition at the Vinyl Factory in the Soho section of London and the publication of a book titled Keep On Running: The Story of Island Records.
