Winehouse Released from Drug Charges

Amy Winehouse was released earlier today from the London police, to whom she surrendered herself for a video she was allegedly in.

Afer being taken in for a "drug" video that shows Amy Winehouse allegedly taking drugs, she will not be charged by London police. The grammy winning Winehouse was questioned for over nine hours, according to the Associated press. She was taken in for questioning for a video that shows her apparently smoking a crack pipe at a party in her own north London home.

She turned herself in last week and was arrested at an east London police station. The video was published by a tabloid newspaper in January that showed a woman like her smoking the pipe. "Following a CPS investigation into a 24-year-old woman . . . no further action will be taken," said a police spokesman to Reuters.

This is the second time in two months that the singer has been detained by the police over different issues. Last month, London police held her overnight, but released her for assaulting a man-slapping him, in this case. In this incident she was not charged, but it did go onto her record.

She's best known for her song, "Rehab," and her rise to fame has come through much media attention for her private life with crazy nights, run-ins with the law, as well as suspicion of illegal drugs on her as well as on other people she associates with, whose names have not been released.
