Winfrey Boosts "Late Night" Ratings

Oprah's appearence on "The Late Show" Boosts Ratings

Oprah Winfrey, who appeared on "The Late Show with David Letterman" on December 1, yielded the biggest ratings the show has gotten in more than 11 years. This was Winfrey's first appearance on the program in 16 years with 13.5 million viewers on average. The two mega hosts had been feuding after Winfrey's last appearance on the show. Winfrey claimed that Letterman made her the butt of all of his jokes. The last episode that created high viewer interest was back in February of 1994, when Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan were in the Olympic ice skating finals.
