Winona Ryder back after years of low profile

The actress, best known for her shoplifting spree, has two films due out this summer.

Winona Ryder has been keeping a low profile since her shoplifting saga, but this summer she's back in a big way.

She's starring in the animated sci-fi flick "A Scanner Darkly" with Woody Harrelson, Robert Downey Jr. and Keanu Reeves. The film, based on the novel by Philip K. Dick, tells of undercover cops, dugs and paranoia. "Scanner" opens July 7.

In addition, Ryder is starring in the upcoming comedy "The Darwin Awards." She plays an insurance claims investigator who works with a forensic detective, played by Joseph Fiennes, in search of a Darwin Award winner. The Darwin Awards are annually given out to the person who killed himself in the stupidest way possible, thus improving the gene pool by removing himself from it.
