Wisconsin Defeats MSU

Brian Butch makes the difference in Wisconsin's victory Thursday.

In a clash between two of the Big Ten's best teams, it was Wisconsin fifth-year senior Brian Butch who made all the difference.

Butch made 4-of-6 three point field goals on his way to accumulating 16 points as the 10th-ranked Badgers handedly defeated Michigan State in a 57-42 victory at Wisconsin's Kohl Center.

Coming into the game, Butch had only made 14-of-51 from downtown, but his out of the ordinary shooting night helped Wisconsin to the top of the Big 10 standings.

The Badgers came into their clash with MSU tied with both Indiana and Purdue for top spot in the Big Ten. With their victory Thursday night, the Badgers stretched their lead over both schools from the state of Indiana to one-half game.

Trevon Hughes added 13 points for Wisconsin, who is currently riding a five game winning streak.
