Woodstock Remebered On Its 40th Anniversary

77 Song CD to be Released

This summer is the 40th anniversary of Woodstock.

A six-CD set will be released called "Woodstock: 40 Years On: Back to Yasgur's Farm."

According to the Los Angeles Times, more than half of the 77 tracks were previously unreleased offering a well-documented listen of the music created over the three days of peace and music.

Woodstock, which was actually held in Bethel, N.Y. - some 34 miles from Woodstock, N.Y. – was kicked off by Richie Havens and closed most notably by Jimi Hendrix. According to the Asbury Park Press, books commemorating Woodstock's 40th anniversary will also be released containing nostalgic pictures.

The 1970 film "Woodstock" went on to become an Oscar-winning documentary. 40th anniversary CDs and DVDs will document even more of the 120 hours of Woodstock performances including Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Incredible String Band, and, for the very first time, the Grateful Dead.
