Whatever the outcome may be on Sunday, the World Cup final between Spain and the Netherlands is sure to be entertaining. So who is picked to win?
If you are one of the many who has jumped on the soccer bandwagon the exciting news is that the USA advanced into the round of 16 this time. If you are just tuning in, that is really good for the USA, considering it is not the reigning king of sports in the States.
Many are siding with the Netherlands, for they are more of the underdog in this match-up. However, some have picked Spain to be the winner, for they beat the “favorite” of the tournament... Germany.
With Spain taking out Germany 1-0, Spain will reach the finals for the first time. In 1950, Spain finished fourth placed and has not advanced any further since. According to USAToday.com, the team is pumped to take the trophy on Sunday.
"The group deserves this but we want more," says Spain kicker David Villa, who is honest about the Netherlands playmaker Wesley Sneijder. He has five goals as the tournament's top scorer. "We are happy to be in the final, that was our objective, but now we want to be champions."
