World of Warcraft to hit the Screens
The popular Blizzard Entertainment game has plans for the theater.
World of Warcraft, or WoW, as its fans call it is an RPG (Role Playing Game) internet-based game. Plans for the film have been scooped up by Legendary Pictures, a major Warner Bros. affiliate. The film will be on the same grandeur of the epic "Lord of the Rings" series.
There are four installments on the Warcraft series, however, WoW has racked up over 6 million users, which pull in a whopping $1 billion plus in revenue each year. In attempting to break with tradition (think "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" or "Doom"), the film will be loosely based on plot from the game, and more so focus on the given settings and characters within the games.
