Wylcef Jean Helping Out in Haiti

Wyclef Jean plans to go back to Haiti to continue helping with relief effort.

Wyclef Jean, who was born in Haiti, did not just sit around when he heard news of the earthquake that destroyed so much. He got together with other celebrities, raised and donated money, and now he is going back there to help rebuild it.

Jean helped George Clooney organize the “Hope for Haiti” telethon, which raised over $61 million, and the Hope for Haiti Album, of which all proceeds go to different charities, is quickly becoming a top selling album on iTunes.

Jean did not travel to Haiti alone, he went with actor Vin Diesel. Jean tweeted on Monday, “So da day after the telethon I have been on the ground in Haiti. We provided cooked meals n water truck from morn til night! I am bless.”

Jean also wrote a song, “Hold On,” which he dedicated to the people of Haiti.

“The mission will not be easy but we all will take Haiti into the 21 century,” Jean tweeted.
