X Factor Comes to the US

Simon Cowell's UK hit "The X Factor" is coming to the states.

Amerian Idol Season 8 Finale

The hit UK reality show "The X Factor" is heading to the United States. According to MSNBC.com, Simon Cowell has signed an alleged $103 million deal with Fox to air the reality show on the network.

The show introduced singer-songwriter Leona Lewis to the world, but it does differ from Cowell's "American Idol" in a few ways. Tryouts are open to groups as well as individuals, and the auditions are in front of the judges and an audience, like on "America's Got Talent."

There are four categories: boys 16-24, girls 16-24, over 25-year-olds and groups. The four judges on the show are then split up to each mentor one of the sections. UK "X Factor" judges Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh are rumored to judge the American version of the show as well.
