Yankees Angels Game 6

The New York Yankees look to capture the team's 40th American League pennant tonight in the Bronx.

The New York Yankees return home tonight, where they have yet to lose this postseason.

The Bronx bombers are looking to clinch the American League pennant after yesterdays game was canceled. Bad weather delayed the Yankees attempt to capture the 40th pennant in franchise history, the most of any team in baseball.

Andy Pettite will take the mound for the Yankees, facing the Angels Joe Saunders in this pivotal game 6 match-up. The Yankees currently lead the series 3 games to 2.

In his last outing, in Game 2 of the series, Saunders pitched 7 strong innings, only allowing 2 earned runs but did not get a decision in the loss. If necessary, Game 7 will be Monday night at Yankee stadium.

If the Angels are able to extend the series that far, the rain-out might become a factor in the series. Angels' ace John Lackey would be available to pitch on 3 days rest, something that would not have been possible without the rain-out.
