You Can't Keep a Good Ninja Turtle Down

TMNT due for another film in the works.

It appears that America's favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will have another foray into the world of cinema unlike anything they've done before. Well, maybe a little like before.
Recently, "Turtle" co-creator Kevin Eastman posted an article stating that another live-action TMNT project was, "in the works." However, another co-creator and current owner of the franchise, Peter Laird, publicly commented saying Eastman's statement was false.
Yet Laird went on to say that while Eastman was in no way involved with negotiations, a deal was about to close for a new TMNT film that would blend live action and CGI characters.
Little detail has been given to the plot of the new film, but one can safely assume it will involve martial arts and mutated amphibians. The four main turtles and perhaps a few other characters will be created with CGI, while the surrounding landscape and cast will be live action. No release date or rating has been announced as of yet.
This follows a trilogy of early turtle films with actors and stuntmen in rubber suits and last year's animated success. The turtles, who got their start in the comics and are still going strong, have also had three television programs, one of which is still on the air.
It's hard to imagine that the decade spanning turtle-mania all started as a cartoonist's joke.
