Youngest Hanson Brother Is a Father!
Drummer of Hanson becomes first time father.
Zac Hanson, drummer and youngest member of the pop trio Hanson, is now a father, the Associated Press reports in Oklahoma.
Hanson and his wife Kate welcomed their first son, John Ira Shepherd Hanson at a hospital in the musician's hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma on Tuesday, May 27. The new addition to the family weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces.
The member of the pop chart-topping group of "MMBop" fame was clearly overjoyed at being a father. "There is not an audience or concert that could ever stand up to the feeling of meeting your baby for the first time," Hanson said in a statement posted on the group's Web site.
The band is currently on their The Walk tour, which fights poverty and AIDS in Africa. The tour started April 9.
