Antoine Dodson became a YouTube sensation when his news interview was remixed into a song. The "bed intruder" who warned the residents of Huntsville, Alabama to hide their kids and wives has come back, releasing a new single, "Lovesick Lullaby."
It is likely that the auto-tuned ballad will be appearing on Dodson's upcoming album, 2012 AD.
Dodson collaborated with musician Brent Morgan on the track. According to Time, Morgan released the song in 2010, but it failed to go viral. In 2011, he tried again, but still didn't get the results he had hoped for. It wasn't until Dodson was included on the track that the video got attention. In just four days, the song received 100,000 more views than Morgan's previous versions.
Some of the lyrics were revamped, but the chorus remained the same. The video and song shows a toned-down Dodson, something the public is not used to seeing.
Getting in touch with his sappy side, Dodson sings, "I'm trying everything, I tried to make it right. But every time I take a step, you turn it to a fight."
Since Dodson first became a YouTube sensation, the aspiring artist has been arrested on drug charges. He also allegedly served time in jail for missing a set court date, reports The Huffington Post.
Dodson gained his fame in 2010 when he was interviewed by NBC after the attempted rape of his sister. The interview became auto-tuned by The Gregory Brothers and became successful on iTunes, even appearing on the Billboard Hot 100 list.
Dodson has made appearances on Lopez Tonight, The Hour, Tosh.0 and The Mo'Nique Show. In 2011, there was even talks of a reality show that revolve around the YouTube star.
