YouTube Wedding Video Helps Chris Brown Return to Charts

The popular video has sent "Forever" back to the charts.

Since July 19, when a video of a bridal party dancing down the aisle to singer Chris Brown's "Forever" was posted to YouTube, the song has experienced a second wind of popularity.

According to Reuters, "Forever" sold 50,000 downloads the week ending July 26, indicating a massive 1,721 percent rise from the previous week. The skyrocketing sales have allowed the hit to re-enter the Hot Digital Songs chart at No. 21, appearing on the list for the first time since January. The song's newfound success also marks the best sales week for a Brown song since the week of Christmas in 2008, when "Forever" sold 77,000 downloads.

The posting of newlyweds Kevin Heinz and Jill Peterson's bridal party boogie down the aisle happened to come just one day before Brown released a YouTube video containing his apology for assaulting his former girlfriend, Rihanna.

As of Thursday, Brown's apology video has been viewed 2.4 million times, while the wedding video featuring his hit song claimed 12.1 million views, earning the title of the site's most-viewed clip of the month.
