Al Gore Promotes New Book
Al Gore may not have won the presidency, but he is fully prepared to offer his opinions on the man who beat him out for the job. The former Vice President will launch his book tour for The Assault on Reason. The book is described as Gore's lamenting of the "eroding democracy under President George W. Bush."
This latest tour is one of many recent events to gain Gore leverage in the public eye and prompt inquiries about his future plans, politically speaking that is, though Gore has said he will not run for the presidency again in 2008. The former Vice President's documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, walked away from the Academy Awards a winner, though Gore's own environmentally ethical practices have been scrutinized since. He continues his green wave with a headlining gig for the 7-continent "Live-Earth" concerts this summer. The concerts' purpose is to boost awareness on the threats from global warming. The "Live-Earth" event is the kick-off for a multi-year campaign to combat global warming.
