Stone Cast off "Dateline NBC"
Stone Phillips is scheduled to leave "Dateline" in June.
NBC News, not unlike many other media organizations, is cutting costs - unable to negotiate a new contract, Stone Phillips will be let go.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the anchor, who helped launch Dateline NBC 15 years ago, will not be replaced. Instead, co-anchor Ann Curry, who has been Phillip's co-anchor for two years, will host Dateline solo. The show's reporters will help by introducing their own stories.
