New Reality Show Creates Family Turmoil

If watching people stranded on an island for 40 days or hearing shining voices rise to fame isn't zipping your zipper, then tune into Fox's new reality series, "My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance." In this new addition to the reality family, there are no bachelors or bachelorettes. There's no fake millionaires or fake boobs, or at least I think there aren't, but you will find the traditional million-dollar prize at the end of this road.

Randi is a 23-year-old schoolteacher who will try to convince her family that she's marrying big obnoxious Steve. Supposedly, the story goes, that the two met while on another reality show and they fell in love. Throughout the series, Steve and his equally obnoxious family, manage to offend everyone in Randi's family with their shocking and rude behavior. Randi's quest will end at the altar, when the two say their final "I Dos," but up until then, Randi must pull off the ruse and convince her family that rude and obnoxious Steve is the one for her.

While Randi is pulling off her stunt, she is also the recipient of one as well, as Steve and the rest of his TV family are professional actors who are brushing up on their improv skills with her family. Randi is under the impression that Steve is also a reality contestant who is trying to convince his family of the whole charade, when it is really Randi and her family who are being duped.

The show will consist of six episodes, the first one airing at 9:00p.m. on January 19th, and will be hosted by Claudia DiFolco. The show was produced in total secrecy, and was just released yesterday. It is expected to post great ratings, as it will air directly after the highly successful "American Idol."

"My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance," is sure to add to the fire of reality show mania. Never has a style of television captivated and annoyed at the same time. Good luck world.
