Johnny Knoxville and His Wife Split
The man who made a career out of being bitten by animals and falling out of a shopping cart while running down a hill free-fall has filed for divorce from his wife. Johnny Knoxville, whose real name is Philip John Clapp, filed papers on Tuesday ending a 12 year marriage. The Jackass star cites irreconcilable differences as the reason behind the split from Melanie Lynn Clapp. The couple has one child, 11-year-old Madison, which is the name tattooed across Knoxville's chest. Both are seeking joint legal and physical custody of Madison, according to the papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court. Knoxville has reportedly offered to pay a specific amount of spousal support, which has not been disclosed. The couple were married May 15, 1995, and were separated on July 17, 2006. Knoxville had to fend off rumors of a fling with Jessica Simpson during filming of The Dukes of Hazzard in 2005. "Usually you just laugh and go on. (But) if it's something like they've done to Jessica and I, it's not as funny because I have a wife and kid," he told a reporter in August 2005. "Luckily, my wife is understanding. It's show business."
