50 Cent's Album is Pushed Back Once Again
Fans waiting for 50 Cent's new album have been disappointed again with the recent announcement of a delay. The release date for "Curtis" is being pushed back one week: from September 4 to September 11, the Rapper's label, Interscope Records, announced on Friday (July 13). In a press release, the label said the reason for the delay is because the previous date falls too close to the Labor Day holiday on September 3, and "the decision was made to push the release one week so that it is available everywhere at 10 a.m. on day of release."
But, that's not the first date the album has jumped from. Just a few weeks ago the album was moved from its original release date of June 26 due to some last-minute songs.
50 Cent's new video, "I Get Money," debuted Friday afternoon on New York radio station Hot 97's Web site and within minutes found its way onto other Web sites. The song is the third single released off the album. In the clip 50 performs with his son, DJ, and G-Unit members Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and Mobb Deep, among others. The title speaks for itself, "I Get Money."
50 called in to Hot 97 on Friday afternoon to talk about the video as well as his album. When asked if he had any comments for his fans, he replied: "I told y'all I'm hot, baby. They killin' me, man! It's all good."
50 also released a fourth single on the radio today titled "She Wants It," which was produced by Timbaland and features Justin Timberlake. Interscope says a video for that track is forthcoming.
