Eddie Murphy is the father of Melanie Brown's baby girl

After demanding that actor Eddie Murphy take a paternity test to confirm that he is, in fact, the father of Melanie Brown's (Scary Spice) four-month-old daughter Angel Iris, the Spice girl found out what she had been stating all along, Murphy is the four-month-old's daddy.

Murphy released a statement last week acknowledging his is the father, but has not promised to visit his daughter. Brown's lawyer Gloria Allred said, "It is my clients concern that he should see his child, spend time with her, hold her, love her and bond with his daughter."

Murphy's publicist Arnold Robinson said in the statement, "He always has and will continue to honor his responsibilities as a father."

Brown claims that the couple planned to have the baby together, Murphy denies such claims, adding in the statement, "Mr. Murphy and Ms. Brown dated very briefly and never made any plans of any sort."

In June a court ordered DNA test confirmed Murphy was the father. Murphy is already the father of five children and recently got engaged to film producer, Tracey Edmonds.
