Courtney Love's weight issue
At first it was Star Jones who came clean about her weight problem, now Courtney Love is the one doing the explaining.
"Some people think it's about weight loss, but it's about detoxing," said Love, who after checking herself into rehab for addiction to pain-killers, is now proud to say she's sober and clean. In the new issue of Harper's Bazaar, the singer talks about her weight fluctuation.
"I put on 30 pounds and I put on another 15 out of emotional depression. Then I finally get an Italian Vogue cover, and I'm 182 pounds."
Love blames her latest weight gain on a bad break-up and her latest slim down to a strict diet.
"I hate reading magazines where the actresses are saying, 'Broccoli and fish, broccoli and fish,'" said Love."You liars. You bulimic liars." As to her own diet, Love says it is a balance of fish and two shake meal replacements a day.
In the Harper's Bazaar story, for which she wore nothing but a hat, shoes and jewelry for its cover shoot, Love also talks about her upcoming solo album "Nobody's Daughter."
"It's the first time I've written sober...the first time I've written from a really deep, dark place."
Love's new album is scheduled to hit stores next year.
The new issue of Harper's Bazaar is available now.
