Dodd to Receive Endorsement from Fire Fighters

Connecticut senator to receive fire fighter's endorsement for president.

On August 29th, 2007, Senator Chris Dodd is expected to receive an endorsement from the International Association of Fire Fighters for his presidential bid. This comes as a personal victory for Dodd, as the fire fighter's organization is quite influential. In the last presidential election, the IAFF supported Senator John Kerry in his bid for the presidency. In an article on the New York Times website, Dodd campaign worker and campaign communication director Hari Sevugan characterized this turn of events as quite positive: "The endorsement of America's firefighters isn't just a great validation for Senator Dodd's leadership, but also is going to provide the boots on the ground in the early states that are going to make the difference." Dodd is a well-known name in the race for the 2008 presidency, although he is not seen widely as a front-runner as compared with the likes of Senator Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, John McCain and John Edwards.
