Huckabee Challenges Thompson to Step Up To Bat

Presidential hopeful Mick Huckabee responded to Fred Thompson's debate comment by challenging him to put his money where his mouth it, and debate one-on-one.

According to an article on CNN, in an interview on Fox News, Thompson mentioned a desire to "... participate in a series of Lincoln-Douglas styled debates" where two candidates have a serious discussion on a serious topic for an extended period of time. This would be in contrast to the vague sound bites which politicians are often more than willing to give, without necessarily going into greater depth on positions held on important issues.

Mike Huckabee took Thompson's words to heart and wrote a letter challenging the recent presidential hopeful, stating, "I agree that what is needed is a real discussion by the candidates about their vision for the future of our country," according to CNN. This is not the first time Huckabee has challenged the will-he-or-won't-he-run Thompson, who was criticized by some for not showing up to Wednesday's Republican presidential debate.
