iPhone to to Released in Germany
Fear not, German citizens -- the iPhone is coming. In an article in PCWorld, it was announced that Apple's iPhone will be debuting in Germany on November 9th. Who else will celebrate the special day? Why, British citizens as well! The same day that the iPhone will be available to the German speaking nation, it will also be made available to our English brethren. The phone will cost about $553, including tax and a 2-year contract. The iPhone now costs $399 in the U.S. The iPhone originally cost closer to $599 when first unveiled in the United States. The iPhone will be offered through T-Mobile, which according to PCWorld, is "... a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom AG." The article describes the European version of the iPhone as essentially the same as the American iPhone. Within the first 2.5 months of its launch on June 29th, over one million iPhones were sold in the U.S. Surely Apple hopes for similar success in the European theater. Is France next?
