The Game Doesn't Play Fair

The rapper, The Game whose real name is Jayceon Terell Taylor, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to three felony charges stemming from his arrest for allegedly pulling a gun on the player of an opposing team during a game of basketball in Compton.

Game was charged in June with one count each of making criminal threats, possession of a firearm in a school zone, and exhibiting a firearm on the grounds of a facility for minors.

Though the brawl took place in February, police did not obtain a search warrant for his Glendale home until May, when police then took the rapper into custody.

During a hearing earlier this month the victim, Rodrick Shannon testified that he exchanged words with the rapper during a Feb. 24 game at the Rita Walters Educational Learning Complex before the trash-talking turned serious.

Shannon claimed the Game called him "garbage" before punching him on his left cheek. When members of the Games' team witnessed the exchange, Shannon claimed, they grabbed him while the Game got a gun from his Cadillac Escalade.

At Tuesday's arraignment the rapper pleaded his innocence in court. The charge, which the Game pleaded not guilty to in court, will be dismissed and the case file sealed, provided the rapper refrain from getting arrested again for the next six months.
