Spinoff premiere for Kate Walsh
Aired Wednesday night, former actress of the beloved character Dr. Addison Montgomery Shepherd on "Grey's Anatomy" became the star of her own show, "Private Practice". Thirty-nine year old actress Kate Walsh played the wife of Dr. Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) for three seasons on the television hit series; a character that was only signed on for five episodes, but quickly became a regular and a favorite amongst fans of the show. In "Private Practice" Addison goes from Seattle Grace to a wellness clinic in Santa Monica, California. She works with her medical school friends, who include actors Tim Daly, Taye Diggs, and Amy Brenneman. Although "Private Practice" was said to be off to a rocky start, Series creator Shondra Rhimes has much to look forward to in developing the individual characters and tone of the series.
