2-Oct-2007
Written by: Kimberly Lovisi

Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus tickets are being scalped at exorbitant rates.

Bruce, Justin, U2, Beyonce none of these even compare to the frenzy that is Hannah Montana. The hottest ticket in town is for the show of a 14 year old girl. Miley Cyrus, who plays Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel, is headlining a 54-date “Best of Both Worlds” tour. According to The Associated Press, Some tickets sold out in as little as four minutes and some are being scalped for exorbitant amounts of money. "We knew it was hot, but we had no idea it was this crazy," said Debra Rathwell, senior vice president of AEG Live. "It's like the Beatles." The tickets were capped off at $65, however the average ticket is being resold for $214. That beats the average resale rates for some of the biggest artists in the world such as, Timberlake ($182), Beyonce ($193), or The Police ($209). One ticket for the Charlotte, N.C. show sold for $2,565. Online services like Ebay and CraigsList are littered with tickets that have jacked up prices. The tour kicks off on October 18th.
