More DVDs aimed at children are heading to a store near you.
All of the DVDs covered in this Dribble are good for entertaining young children. If you’re looking for real-life action, then this Dribble isn’t for you because all of these DVDs are animated.
It’s time to ride the wave with the first DVD, “Surf’s Up.” The CGI animated film takes a look at the annual Penguin World Surfing Championship and up and coming contestant Cody Maverick. The characters are voiced by some famous actors, which include Shia LaBeouf, Jeff Bridges, Zooey Deschanel, Jon Heder, and James Woods. The DVD is available as a full-screen special edition, widescreen special edition, blu-ray, and UMP for PSP. It has English, French, and Spanish audio and subtitles.
“Bigfoot Presents Meteor and the Mighty Monster Trucks: Start Your Engines, Vol. 1” is another animated DVD. After retiring from monster truck racing, Bigfoot notices the difference between when he grew up and how his son Tow is growing up. The DVD includes Volume 2 episodes “Cheering Section,” “Tag Along,” “Trucktacular Truckathon,” “Rebel Rover,” “Hang Time" and “Bath Time for Junkboy.”
The next animated DVD is for the younger children. “Toddworld, Vol, 1: Being an Individual” teaches children what makes people different and to appreciate the differences. There are no special features on this DVD.
There’s more CGI animation in “The Reef.” In the movie, a young fish moves to the Reef and falls in love with a female fish. The only problem is that a bull shark is also in love with her. The characters are voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr., Rob Schneider, Andy Dick and Fran Drescher. This DVD also does not contain any special features.
One of the most popular dolls is back on DVD and closing out this Dribble. “Barbie as The Island Princess” is a CGI animated musical that has Barbie playing Ro, a girl that is shipwrecked, raised by animals and falls in love with a prince. The DVD has English, French and Spanish audio tracks and English subtitles.
The DVDs in this Dribble consisted of animated films that could entertain and maybe even teach the young ones in your family. Most of the DVDs only contained the movies themselves and not any special features.
