Dancing with the Stars Mishap - Marie Osmond Collapses

On ABC last night, the live broadcast of "Dancing with the Stars" opened with a lively number by Marie Osmond and her professional ballroom dance partner. Minutes later, the host rushed into a commercial break after the star herself collapsed on the stage while receiving the judge's comments.

Osmond,48, explained later, as Reuters reported, that "once in a while" she loses her breath after a performance and faints. After the break, she reappeared to receive her final scores from the judges, and received medical attention as the show continued.

The talented singer and performer become known in the 1970's as a member of the Osmond family of entertainers. She starred with her brother on the "Donny and Marie" variety show, and has acted on television and on stage ever since.

Now, according to Reuters, Osmond is " doing much better and feeling fine and she's looking forward to appearing on tonight's (Tuesday's) show," Marleah Leslie, Osmond's spokeswoman, said.

Osmond is a contestant on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" this season along with Jennie Garth, of "Beverly Hills 90210," actress Jane Seymour, and the racer car driver Helio Castroneves.
