Britney's "Blackout" projected to be #1

Britney's new album is projected to be number one in its first week sales.

Despite not promoting her new album "Blackout," which was released Tuesday, Britney Spears may be debuting at number one, according to MTV.

The one week sales are projected to be more than 330,000 according to SoundScan's early estimates. The projections are based on the first day sales, which according to Jessica Letkemann, editor of Billboard.com, is 124,000 copies.

Spears faces tough competition, fighting against many other artists for the number one spot including The Backstreet Boys, Avenged Sevenfold and the Eagles.

"Blackout" is Spears highly anticipated comeback album, her first in four years. If she hits the number one spot, it will be her fifth album to go number one. According to E!online, her last album, "In the Zone," sold 609,000 copies in its first week in 2003.

Only time will tell whether or not Spears will hit number one again as the end of the sales week draws to a close Sunday.
