X-Files Returns to the Big Screen
X-Files fans mark your calendars for July 25, 2008. That is the date a new long-awaited "X-Files" movie will hit theaters.
This will be the second "X-Files" movie, following "The X-Files," which was released in 1998. According to E! Online, box office numbers for the first film surpassed $189 million worldwide.
With filming set to begin in Vancouver next month, the second movie for the franchise will bring back agent Fox Mulder, played by David Duchovny, and agent Dana Scully, played by Gillian Anderson.
Although plot information has not been released, Anderson revealed to Britain's "Empire" magazine that Chris Carter, the show's creator and writer and director of the new film, was going for a stand-alone story so movie lovers will not need to have seen the previous movie or the show.
Fans may remember the Fox show from 1993-2002, when it was a popular hit for the network.
