Shecky's Beauty Night

You know it's going to be a hot event when you arrive ten minutes after the show opens and there's already a line down the block.

The first glimpse of Shecky's annual Beauty Night Out in Manhattan: The posh flea market took place October 24 and 25 on three separate floors of Loft 11 and featured Shecky's "Best Of" products.

Upon reaching the door, Shecky's staff greets you so many times that you immediately feel like a diva. But the real fun began on the 15th floor, where you checked in, got your wristband and a fully loaded goody bag.

Some of the amazing sights on that level were Chameleon's hand-made copper jewelry, Luxe Essentials' body butter, which smelled like real fruit, and Biggs and Featherbelle's handmade, all-natural body products. And for a taste of everyday, Bud Light was offering drinks.

Cramming into the elevator with lighter pockets and heavier arms, you go down to the fully loaded 11th floor. This was the place to have your hair straightened by Studio i~~m or styled by Nexus stylists and where to get fake eyelashes from Shu Uemura.

Since this floor featured Shecky's "Best Of" products, you found Maybelline (best volumizing mascara) right along side Iradale Mineral Makeup (best under-eye concealer) and Nailene (best home French manicure) right along side Poshe (best basecoat and topcoat). Other marvelous products on this floor included Dove Clinical Strength Antiperspirant, Borghese face masks, Crabtree and Evelyn skin care, Hip Chic Couture watches and Nurturing Force blotting papers.

Hitting the elevator again the only thought in your head is, "My husband's going to kill me!" while attempting to add up your purchases. Every vendor had a discount and an amazing product to sell, not to mention all the free samples gathered along the way.

The 6th floor boasted Shecky's favorite self-improvement services like the workout-in-a-box by Plain White Press, the bikini wax at Yasmin at Haven Spa, the massage at Paul Labrecque Spa & Salon Swedish Massage and a calorie-burning yoga class at Evan Perry's Ashtanga Yoga Class.

But if exercise wasn't the way you wanted to top off a night of shopping, there were plenty of other things to see and do. iVillage had computers set up for virtual do-it-yourself makeovers and Johnson & Johnson had a soothing waterfall and seats set up as they handed out samples of their 24-hour soothing body wash -- aka, a bath in a bottle.

If you hadn't yet found any jewelry along the way, this was the floor to visit. The most unique necklaces were here -- ones made from real flowers coated in acrylic and others made from estate chandelier crystals dating back to the 19th century.

The best part about the night was that there really was something for everyone. The mixture of makeup, jewelry, eye wear, clothing and services compiled by Shecky's fit every budget, every skin tone and showcased many all-natural and parabens free products.

If you weren't able to get to this year's event, Shecky's has the "best of" list on their website at www.sheckys.com/bestbeauty. There you can also check out next year's event. With tickets starting at just $10, it's a shame to miss out. But be sure to get there early and wear comfortable shoes.
