MSNBC and Rosie O'Donnell Discuss a new Gig
Rosie O'Donnell, who left "The View" earlier this year, is currently in discussions with MSNBC about hosting a prime-time program according to the Los Angeles Times.
The talks come at a time when Rosie has been mostly off the air since her bitter onscreen fight with "The View" co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck and subsequent departure from the show. This happened six months ago.
O'Donnell is signed on to reprise her guest role on "Nip/Tuck" this fall, and one possibility with MSNBC would be to host a weeknight show. The time slot would fall right after "Countdown with Keith Olbermann," the network's top-rated program.
Executives are saying that these negotiations are just beginning, and that O'Donnell would have to accept a major cut from her typical fee to take the job. Earlier in the year, O'Donnell asked for $10 million for another year at "The View."
O'Donnell's rep declined to comment.
