No deal for Rosie and MSNBC
Rosie O'Donnell will not be returning to TV with an MSNBC show; it was announced last night via the star's blog.
The New York Times reported Monday that the deal would have given O'Donnell a show in the 9 p.m. time slot, competing for ratings with CNN's Larry King.
O'Donnell said the negotiations had fallen apart because she let it slip that she was in talks to get a prime-time show.
According to E! Online, on Sunday, O'Donnell slipped to fans at a book signing that she would be competing against "the guy with the suspenders and the long, long face."
She mentioned the talk show again at a stand-up gig at the New York Comedy Festival on Tuesday. O'Donnell said, "They told me not to mention this possible show, and they are men in business suits. Nothing is scarier than men in business suits screaming at you over the phone."
The show would have been O'Donnell's first since leaving "The View" in May.
