Country Music Awards Award Chesney Entertainer of the Year
The Country Music Awards captured the attention of Americans on Wednesday night, and doled out big awards to stars like Kenny Chesney and Carrie Underwood, according to Reuters.
Chesney took home the award of the night - Entertainer of the Year - saying, "I love country music and I love doing what I do." The 39 year-old musician sold over 62 million tickets on his tour this past summer. He has won the Country Music Association's top honor twice before, and gained much attention for his brief 2005 marriage to actress Renee Zellweger.
The "American Idol" winner, Carrie Underwood, who has also won two Grammy's, won both the Female Vocalist of the Year and Single of the Year awards. Brad Paisley won his first award as he was named Male Vocalist of the Year.
The Horizon Award, which recognizes new and emerging talent, was given to seventeen-year-old Taylor Swift. She said, "This is definitely the highlight of my senior year (in high school)."
