Radiohead Plans to Release "In Rainbows" in CD Form
The British alternative rock band, Radiohead, experimented with a new format for distributing their latest album, "In Rainbows," last month. They made it available via their website and allowed fans to determine how much they would pay for the music.
Last week, consumer research firm comScore Inc. released a study that showed that 62 percent of those who downloaded the album didn't pay a cent. The remaining downloaders spent an average of $6 for "In Rainbows."
According to the Associated Press, Radiohead has just announced that "In Rainbows" will in fact have an old-fashioned release on CD. Their seventh studio album will hit stores January 1 and will be put out by ATO Records Group.
The label chosen by the band has been a hot topic of speculation over the last few months since they ended their long-term relationship with the industry leader EMI Group.
